2026 ELECTIONS INFORMATION

As a member-based organization, each chapter of the Minneapolis Federation of Educators, Local 59, is governed by an executive board made up of representatives of their respective memberships elected by the members of each chapter. Each position serves a two-year term.

For this round of elections, we will conduct the vote entirely by paper ballot. Paper ballots will be mailed to all MFE members in good standing on April 27th. Returned ballots must be postmarked by May 8th & received by May 12th. If you have not received your ballot by May 4th, please contact support@directvote.net or 952-974-2339.

Please make every effort to mail your ballot by the postmark date of May 8th. If you miss this deadline, there are two options:

1. In-person voting by provisional ballot at the MFE Office (67 8th Ave NE) will be offered at the following times:

  • Monday, May 4th, 4pm to 7pm

  • Saturday, May 9th, 11am to 2pm

2. You may bring your ballot in its return envelope to the MFE Office (67 8th Ave NE) during the Saturday 5/9 voting time, or on Monday 5/11 or Tuesday 5/12 during regular business hours of 8am to 4pm.

Ballot counting will begin on Wednesday, May 13th. Unofficial results will be emailed to members via personal email as soon as they are available. Results will be ratified at the Joint Executive Board meeting on Wednesday, May 20th. Official results will be announced at the May joint chapter member meeting.
